In September of last year I met up with these 2 to shoot their E Session at the IMA. Please do check it out if you haven’t seen it – Lafferty E Session. After their E Session I knew we would have an incredible day together. Natalie kept asking me if she was being “bridezilla” and I assured her the details she was sending me very much helped the process and the timeline for the day. I just luv it when my clients are detailed about everything… Images they want, styles they like, colors, texutres…. pretty much everything that makes good photography. I met up with Natalie and her entourage of bridesmaids (x10) at Static Salon in Broad Ripple. The salon had so much light pouring in the windows it made for so many great images of the girls getting their hair and make-up done.
It was January 2nd and the temp was in the low teens. Even trips to and from the car made you feel like an ice cube! Needless to say the entire Bridal Party (24+ people, not including the little ones) were krazy fun and wanted to run outside for a few images. The good thing about shooting in seriously cold temps is that everyone tends to listen and move very quickly. Also, there tends to be a ton of huddling together and huge smiles from laughing at how cold everyone is!!!
The bus down to the circle also made for some insanely fun party shots. And the alcohol was only to warm up with!!!
As we approached the circle we all jumped out and shot about 75 frames in a matter of 5+ minutes. It was the quickest I had ever shot a party this large. We were all running about, laughing and moving as fast as we could.
The reception was held at the Riverwalk in Broad Ripple were 350+ people attended to party the night away. The Father of the Bride’s speach was one of the best I’ve heard and the Father/Daughter dance was hands down the best I’ve seen. They choreographed a 5 or 6 song medley starting out with my girl and going through hip-hop, swing and R&B. It was insanely good.
As you can tell I had an amazing time shooting this Wedding. The slideshow is very, very, very long, but I just had to tell the story of their day through all the amazing images. Oh, and the cop rolling up after the ceremony… priceless.
Thank you both again for asking me to capture your day! I had an unbelievable time!
Enjoy~
